The Self-Paced Business Course for Creative Entrepreneurs
Business Rhythm helps people who are great at their craft learn how to organize and lead successful, sustainable businesses.
Hi, I'm Ben.
CEO of Finch Creative Education. Destination Wedding, Commercial and Editorial Photographer. Other hats include - but are not limited to - Author, Pilot, Musician, University Professor, and most importantly, Husband of Joy and Father of four really amazing kids.
I am most well known as a wedding and commercial photographer based in East Tennessee. But I have a somewhat diverse background, or as a friend once said, early in my professional life, I had “occupational ADHD”. I was a college soccer player who became a musician and pastor, retail manager, turned PhD student, became a business consultant, motivational speaker, photographer, designer, university professor and the list keeps growing. Truth is, I have interests in numerous fields.
Previously, I was in graduate school working on a PhD in Strategic and Organizational Leadership (I did not finish, by the way).
I was hired out of that program by a consulting firm that specifically worked within the medical field. They brought me on to teach doctors and staff how to run healthy businesses. For several years, I traveled the US teaching this content, and I learned that, in most cases, the entrepreneur stands in their own way.
With the knowledge I gained through these experiences, I honed in on my passion and launched into self-employment with my photography business as well as a design firm in 2008. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to turn several of my passions into profitable business ventures, and I want to help you do the same.
“Ben is amazing at what he does. He comes from a place of great experience as a wedding photographer, but it is his knack for business that attracted me to his course. Ben has a versatile tool box that can help wedding industry professionals gain clarity and confidence, make changes to streamline costs and revenue, and create next steps to reach our goals.”

“Business Rhythm was a great eye-opening experience for me and my business. Although my business was running smoothly and growing, I knew there were areas I needed help with to take my company to the next level. Business Rhythm helped me find those areas and determine the steps needed. Ben gives a very useful outline of great business procedures and practices, along with resources to help you grow. Business Rhythm gave me the knowledge and initiative to utilize in the growth of my business for years to come.”

Here's What's Inside...
Gain insight into the unique abilities that differentiate you from others. Just as musicians grow and refine their sound and style, creative business owners grow into their voice when they capitalize on their unique talents.
You're not a solo artist. Whether you have independent contractors, full-time team members, or simply the other vendors you work alongside, there are people in your realm of influence. Learn how to build a positive culture among and for those you work alongside and how to capitalize on your team's strengths so that each member is playing the right instrument.
Hone in on your values so that your work is moving toward your goals. There's no song without a melody – it's the part you hum. Similarly, there's no business if there's no reason behind it. When you strip away everything else – the branding, the marketing, the communications, etc. – what is at the core of your business?
This is when singers start getting creative – you can play with harmony to create different results. Similarly, you'll learn how to adapt your communication to reach different target audiences and achieve different outcomes. Basically, this module is a simplified strategy to help you say what needs to be said and to help others receive your company's messaging.
Imagine a drummer who can't keep a regular beat. The band would fall apart when performing live! They need this reliable, grounding beat to remain consistent. Similarly, systems help you gain control over what needs to be accomplished in your business.
Don't keep playing in your garage – it's time to book the big venues. In this module, you will take a deep dive into the way I approach finances – a streamlined method for organizing your income to make sure you're ready for whatever comes.
Learn how to craft your unique story so that others want what you're producing or selling. There are different genres of music for different people – your business shouldn't try to serve every single person in the world. Learn how to find a loyal fan base who connects to your voice.
Learn the importance of and how to invest in the most important roles in your life and in longterm goals so that you can keep your business running for years to come.
“In a few words, this course recalibrated me. First focusing on ourselves before analyzing the different aspects of our business put into context my shortcomings as a business owner but most especially my strengths. Ben is such a calming voice, especially in these times, and above all an encouraging force.”
